Meet Thomas Kaas Selsø

Thomas Kaas Selsø is an experienced CEO, CFO and investor with more than 25 years of strategic and operational management experience from both listed and owner-managed companies — nationally and internationally. He has also worked with private equity funds such as Polaris Equity and Maj Invest in connection with the analysis, purchase, sale and development of companies. Thomas specializes in building and transforming companies through M&A, IPO/RTO processes and strategic business development with proven success.

Thomas brings a powerful combination of financial discipline, analytical acumen and business creativity to bear for company owners and management. This applies both to day-to-day operations as CEO/CFO and to more structural processes such as transformation, generational succession, turnarounds, acquisitions and due diligence, strategic refocusing and exit planning.

Thomas was until 31 March 2025 CEO of the listed Pharma Equity Group A/S and of ReponeXPharmaceuticals A/S, where in 2023 he successfully led the IPO process and got the company listed on the Nasdaq Copenhagen Stock Exchange.

Thomas combines his management experience with a solid academic background as an MSc. Merc. FIR andGHD (R), as well as an Executive Board Education from CBS. In addition, he is an external lecturer and special advisor at CBS, where he teaches accounting, valuation and corporate transactions.

In addition to his executive and board roles, Thomas has established and run his own companies and today also serves as an active investor and advisor in selected companies. In 2017, he was awarded the EY “Entrepreneur of the Year” award for best turnaround and innovative digitalisation, and he has achieved significant results with streamlining, process optimisation and business focus in a number of organisations — from Q8 and Jyske Bank to DSV Miljø and several small and medium-sized companies.

Of personal characteristics are often mentioned: Trustworthy, enthusiastic, results-driven and with great integrity and ability to see opportunities for optimization at all levels of the company.

Thomas is married to Dorthe and has two adult children. In its free time, it stands on runs and long walks and gatherings with family and friends. Thomas loves skiing in the winter.

  • FOSS, Global Key Account Manager and IBM for India.

    o Responsible for the IPO/RTO process in relation to getting Reponex Pharmaceuticals A/S on the main list on the Nasdaq Copenhagen stock exchange.
  • Business Director for Hillerød and Director of the C4 Knowledge Centre.

    o Acquisitions, due diligence etc. of several insurance brokers and pension brokerage companies in cooperation with the capital fund Polaris in relation to creating a major player in the market (North Risk A/S)
  • Won EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Best Turn Around

    o Optimized and automated the majority of processes and business processes leading to higher million profits.

    o Acquisition of a competitor and subsequent optimization of its operations and organization which brought the Group a larger million profit.
  • Arla Foods Ingredient, stationed in Saudi Arabia and Argentina, management and sales.
  • Board experience from Perplant ApS, Meotrupes A/S and Crescita Partners.
  • Analytical process review and successful troubleshooting of major milion difference for Q8 main seed as well as successful optimization of management reporting tools
  • M&A, Due Diligence and strategic analyses in connection with acquisitions and sales for DSV Miljø, MajInvest Private Equity
  • Founded and operated interim management company with major listed and non-listed clients
Competencies and training
  • Global management and sales experience in pharma, food and analytics.

    Master's degree in finance and accounting specializing in valuation and buying and selling businesses.

    Thesis: Strategic accounting analysis and valuation of DSV.
  • Founded and developed finance company and family limited company.

    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Auditing and Financial Management

    Thesis: Analysis of valuation models with a focus on real option models
  • Developed and operated an innovation environment as Business Director, which later led to the establishment of the C4 Knowledge Centre in Hillerød.
  • 2009 IFRS Academy, FSR (50 hours course in IFRS)
  • Master of Science in Economics and Agronomy: The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural College.
